There are a lot of ways in which your Facebook account may get hacked and many ways to protect them ( Read: How to protect your facebook account from hackers). But whatever you do, there are still many chances that your account may get hacked by someone or get compromised. The increasing number of exploits and vulnerabilities found makes the web and social networking riskier than before ! So it’s important that you take all the precautions to prevent your account getting hacked and at the same time, try checking periodically if your facebook is account is compramised/ hacked by someone already  !!

How to check if your Facebook account is compromised / Hacked by someone ?

Well this is not a big task. The easiest way is to check for uncommon behavior in your account like new friends added, pages liked etc. Also check the messages as if the hacker infiltrate into your account, when he access your account it goes ‘online’ and your friends sees you online, they may sent chat messages to your account. keep an eye on them !

Also you can check the active sessions ( place where your account is still logged in ) and the place where you last opened your facebook account in the security settings.

To view this, Login to your facebook account -> settings -> security ->Active sessions

There you can see the current active sessions of your account and the place where your facebook account was last opened, device name, location, device etc. Check if all those where you and if any login other than yours is discovered, then have sense to know that your account is hacked by someone !

If you see your account being accessed from somewhere, don’t waste a minute, quickly change your password, security question and check if your email and phone numbers provided are correct !
