How to root LG optimus one p500 updated to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread

LG optimus one is one of the most popular lg mobile phones and was the first in optimus series to be sold over 2 million pieces. This phone became really popular due to its specifications which were worth it’s price. It ran on stock android 2.2 Froyo but later LG provided an update for android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, which improved the perfomance and battery life significanly.

Earlier we discussed on how we can root the lg optimus one p500 running on stock android 2.2.1 froyo. The froyo version could be easily rooted by an android app called gingerbreak. But when you update the firmware to Android gingerbread (2.3 ) then the phone will be again unrooted and works in stock OS.

We didn’t discussed about how we can root the stock android 2.3.3 Gingerbread because at that time, there was no easy tool for rooting and all the available tools needed android SDK, ADB shell and to edit some documents. These could be complicated if you are a newbie and there are chances that you may go wrong and end up with a bricked phone. We couldn’t let our readers to try taking such a risk so we were afraid to post anything like that. But now, we have got a easy tool which you can use to root your LG optimus one p500 running upgraded / stock gingerbread.

Step 1: Make sure you have the lg drivers installed in your computer. If not, download it from here

Step 2: Connect your mobile to the PC and make sure to have a back up all your numbers, datas and applications.

Step 3: Enable USB Debugging mode by going to settings-> applications -> Development -> USB Debugging

Step 4: Download the rooting tool by antdking from here.

NB: You may use this tool or Superoneclick tool from here. But I got to know that superoneclick doesn’t works in every situation. So I prefer you to use the antdking’s rooting tool, which I used and is very simple and userfriendly.

Step 5: Open the tool and run it. Follow the instructions carefully and complete it. Make sure to turn on USB debugging once it restarts too.

Step 6: After the installation is done, Verify if there is ‘Superuser” app on your droid. You may use any root checker too.

 

Now you have a LG optimus one p500 running rooted android 2.3.3 Gingerbread in your hand. Now you get the full control over your mobile and start experimenting with your droid !!
