How to root LG optimus one P500 android 2.2.1 froyo

LG optimus one is considered as the most cost efficient android phone available on the market. It runs on froyo and upgrade option is available to Gingerbread. There are a lot of features in it but inorder to get full access and a superuser authority over your phone, you have to root your phone.

But in case of LG optimus one (P500), in the updated versions, the default z4root application, which helps you to root in a single click does not works well. I think the problem is seen for phones with thier OS froyo 2.2.1 or 2.2.2. Here we are going to peep how we can root an LG optimus one or any other phone with android 2.2.1 or android 2.2.2 froyo.

Before we start, let me say something – i think you hear them often in this process

  • Rooting will destroy the warranty of your device
  • Try this at your risk – I’ll not be responsible if you end with a broken droid (really 🙁 )
  • Read the tutorial and screenshots carefully. It’s a much easy process that takes only 5 mins – Just as the name says, all you want to do is to just install an app and tap a button
So you had heard them, right. Continue reading if you still dare to, or just exit
Step 1 : Download Gingerbreak from here, carry the apk to SD card if you are downloading from your PC
Step 2 :Use your file-manager to navigate and install apps from sd card. [How to ]
Step 3: Open the GingerBreak
Step 4: Click on the ‘Root’ option
Step 5: Now just w..a..i..t… The phone will restart once the Rooting was done successfully
Step 6: If Rooting was done successfully, check whether there is a ‘superuser’ app appearing on your menu or not. It will appear once the rooting was done successfully.
If the rooting was not done successfully, try uninstalling gingerbreak, download a fresh copy and start the procedure once more. This is a simple procedure and and only takes 5-10 mins for the whole procedure. Sometimes, it may not work out on the first time, if it doesn’t, try once more. It’ll surely works.
